Mama wanted to get just a head start on my party preparations for tomorrow! I watched her make the chocolate cupcakes and put out some of the decorations.

Menu: chocolate cupcakes, cookies, ice-cream (dessert); sweet tea and water (drinks); crackers, cheese ball, ham, pretzles, chocolate and caramel dip, apples, carrots, candy corn (appetizers). We were going to have pumpkin fluff, but it was so good that Mama ate it all.

From Mama to Robert:

Little Robert, I can hardly believe you are my son and that God gave me my heart's desire to have a baby! I read Psalm 113:9 hundreds of times, hoping that I would someday be that joyful mother of children. This past year has been like a wonderful dream and each day your smile and love just make my heart sing!

Grandpa and Thanksgiving weekend

Clap your hands if you are glad Daddy is home and doesn't have to work today!!

Grandpa is holding all 22 lbs of me. I stepped on the scale this week so I know how much I weigh.

We took Grandpa to Steak and Shake between 2-4PM today when shakes are 1/2 price. Daddy, Gpa, and Mama got huge shakes and Mama let me lick her spoon a few times. Don't worry, Grandma, I brushed my teeth when I got home.

I love to play with Daddy's face and he lets me horseplay.

Daddy watched me while Mama got her hair cut today for the first time since June/July!

Why does everyone always want me to look at the camera? I'm ready to eat my applesauce!

Grandpa arrived Thursday afternoon! Daddy grilled steaks and yams for Thanksgiving dinner and we had applesauce, homemade cranberry bread, rice, ice-cream, cookies, and brownies. I only got applesauce and raisins. I love to play with Daddy's shoes and especially with the little wooden things that go inside to keep the shoes good. We got ready for my big day tomorrow - my 1st birthday party!!

Thanksgiving Thankfulness

Yesterday I went with Mama to Daddy's Thanksgiving work lunch. I got to see Franklin Graham and Cliff Barrows and Daddy watched me the whole time while Mama played dinner music. I knocked over my Cheerios tupperware 2x, but Daddy didn't get mad at me. Mama gave me some of her yams and I loved them. I saw Mama eat 2 pieces of pie - hers and Daddy's!

Yesterday got me thinking of everything that I'm thankful for ....

• Daddy, who plays with me and puts me to sleep when Mama is playing at church;
• Mama, who feeds me and makes sure I'm dry and clean (especially in my nose and ears);
• Bananas, raisins, peas, carrots, squash, Cherrios, (OK, I love eating!);
• Swings, slides, and the playground;
• Puppies and kitty cats;
• My Aunts and Uncles and cousins;
• Music to sway to;
• Knowing how to walk and crawl and clap and scream and make bubbles with my mouth;
• The YMCA pool;
• Church family, our pastors, our SS class, and the organ that puts me to sleep (P.S. Mama plays the organ);
• Papa, Nanny, Grandma, and Grandpa;
• Nice clothes from Brock;
• Books, toys, and running water;
• Naps!
• ... almost 1 year old!!!

Papa and Nanny

I went to pick up Papa and Nanny at the airport. I was a little shy at first, but Nanny sat next to me on the ride home and I warmed up to her right away! We ate a quick dinner and left for choir/orchestra rehearsal. I was excited to play with Nanny and Papa, so it took me longer to go to sleep. This morning Nanny watched me while Mama had a meeting at church. I didn't even miss Mama! I had a lot of fun. Nanny and Papa are visiting with the Godfreys until Saturday when they'll come back to see us!

I called Nanny on Mama's cell phone two times all by myself today. I've never called anyone before. I held down #4, which is Mama's speed dial for Nanny, when Mama wasn't looking and actually called her!

Have you noticed Mama hasn't been doing as many blog entries about me lately? We've had several difficulties with our computer for a few weeks. After we bought the new laptop recently, we soon realized that there were a few problems and had to exchange it. Long story short, Mama lost all of her pictures and videos of me during the month of October. At least some are preserved on the blog.

I wore Brock's blue and white striped sport coat today. I don't really like hats anymore so you'll see me make a frowny face in one picture because I didn't want to wear the hat and Mama REALLY wanted to get a picture of me wearing it.

Daddy and I are really good buddies now. If Mama leaves to practice really early at the church, Daddy lets me sleep in the bed with him if I awake before Mama comes back. I always fall asleep in seconds and enjoy snoozing in the big bed until Mama comes back.

Papa and Nanny are coming this week! I'm really excited. I'll get to go to the airport to pick them up and see the big planes. We are thinking of fun things to do with them!

I have started "bopping" to music with my head and legs. Today during the church rehearsal, I awoke from sleep and started to sway to the beat.

When Mama chews gum, I pretend to chew gum with my mouth, too. I can also make a funny clicking sound now.

For some reason, Mama has had a hard time uploading videos and pictures lately. More to come when the connection is working!

Tuesday I took 2 steps, Thursday I took 3 steps, and yesterday (Sunday) I took 5 steps! Daddy caught one of my "walkings" on video!

All dressed up and no where to go! It was raining really hard and only 4 kids came for trick or treating! We drove around in the car just for a little bit just to see the other home decorations.
