Flowers....

The Lapeer East choir gave me flowers for accompanying their spring concert! They are beautiful, don't you think? Jason received the pink rose for turning my pages. (Ha!)

We enjoyed having our friend over for lunch on Friday. He's helping at the office this summer. I snapped a few pictures of a frosted angel food cake and the table with Grandma Schmitt's dishes.

Not our typical Saturday....

We were really looking forward to this weekend, especially since Jason had a really busy week... township board meeting Tuesday night, 6AM Business meeting Wednesday morning, and late nights at work both Wednesday and Thursday!

Friday night finally came so we decided our yard needed to be mowed! Jason did a great job, but had to detour around a mother kill deer bird who wouldn't budge from her eggs that were laid right in the middle of the lawn. She was one mean bird -- if we got to close to her, she would flare her wings and scream! She scared the living day lights out of us a few times! I definately am not wishing her a happy mother's day! As Jason was mowing, I was cleaning up the multch area and as I was poking around and moving dirt, I scraped a hard piece of "rock" that jumped out at me! I screamed so loudly that the whole neighborhood heard and Jason stopped mowing... all for a TOAD!!!

Saturday we had the memorizing competition winners over for a musical cookie & ice-cream. We enjoyed playing with them!

Then we got some of our furniture! Notice the beautiful dishes that are displayed for the first time since we were married! It only took us four years to do it... not bad, eh?

Sunday School

We had fun in Sunday School decorating the Peeps (in memory of the baker who died in Genesis 40.)

SATURDAYS!

What fun we had today!

We got to mow the lawn for the first time -- thanks to Daniel for his lawn mower!

We sat outside in the sun!

Jason grilled out for dinner.

We visited the Chilly Cow, a cute ice-cream shop in Attica, where my friends just started their own business! We went there tonight and the owner gave us free ice-cream!

We got 2 of these kits for our JV Sunday School class. They were only 17 cents each!

Jason's been teaching the story of Joseph (and we just got to Genesis chapter 40 about the Butler & the Baker) so hopefully we can somehow tie everything together.

Walk through our home!

We were home for the first weekend since we moved to 367 Wildflower! We spent nearly the whole weekend getting everything ready for guests to arrive! NOW WE JUST NEED GUESTS! The pictures show some of our upstairs rooms! Sorry for the side ways pictures! We are doing this late at night!

We had many "firsts" today! We bought our first furniture, grilled out for the first time, hung curtains, etc.!

Our friend, Mike, was so kind to spend his evening bringing over the fridge and getting it all ready for us to use!!

Here is the sofa we bought... the love seat is the color of the pillows...... the white coffee table was included! The dining room set and baker's rack aren't the same color or style as this photo, but very similar! In fact, the seat cushions match the sofa set!! Everything came together!

60th!

We had a fun time in North Tonawanda this past Easter weekend with Dad & Mom Hildebrand! We celebrated Dad's 60th birthday with the Peters and Tubbs at Pane's restaurant. Jason and I were 45 minutes late to the "surprise" party since it took us 1 1/2 hours to cross the border..... and so hungry that we ate all but 3 pieces of that yummy large pizza! We brought a big frosted cookie from Meijer and enjoyed that after the dinner. Thanks for your hospitality this weekend, Dad & Mom H.!

It's been so long since we've posted a blog! We have enjoyed so many things the last few weeks! Daniel and Candice had a beautiful wedding in Augusta, Georgia, and we enjoyed flying down with Mom and Dad Lanning and meeting Candice's wonderful friends & family! It was great to see Brock (&Ben & Reba!) again and to hear Matt & Rachel share with us about the adoption of their new son, Micah Matthew!



Other fun things....

I get to lead the 1st - 3rd grade choir at church! We sang 2 songs and did a short skit Sunday night during the church's Festival of Praise. Aren't they so cute?! Rachel - we used the flowers you gave me as palm branches in our skit! They were a big hit!











I had the privilege of playing with our favorite "little buddy" Matthew on a Tuesday morning and he was showing me how his boots light up by dancing a jig.

Our J.V. Sunday School class (taught by my favorite Sunday School teacher) now meets in the side room of the gym! We have treats most weeks as well as gifts from the "basement" (our junk) . We are studying the life of Joseph. Check out the calendar in our room, Rachel!












Sunshine!!!!!! We get to see the sunset and the sunrise every day in our home! We love our new place!
