Mama's laptop DIED last Friday. The repair man said it would cost more to fix it than to buy a new one. We had to wait until Thursday to buy a computer (Windows 7), and we went to purchase one, the brand we wanted was all gone, so Daddy picked up a new laptop for us on Friday!

We have had a busy week. Daddy and Mama finally bought outlet covers last Saturday because I noticed that the outlets have fun little holes and I wanted to stick my fingers in them. It rained a lot this week so we met Daddy at Wendy's for lunch. They had some cool balloons there and I was good in the car as Mama drove me to meet him.

I like to read the newspaper. They had a dog contest, so I liked all the pictures that were submitted. Daddy might not like it that I read his paper before he gets home. I took my first step on Tuesday, Oct. 20th! I was upstairs with Daddy and Mama and I thought it was really funny how I'd stand up on the couch, take two steps, and fall on my face.

I am really interested in candles now. Mama made fish one day and needed a candle to get the fishy smell out of the house, so when she lit the candle and smelled it, I started making sounds with my nose just like Mama. Every time she snifs and says, "Ah," I look at the candle. I also know where Mama keeps the bananas. When she asks me if I want a banana, I point to the banana basket and get really excited.

Yesterday the Godfreys visited me! I got to play with Brock and Evie and they brought me a huge box of toys and lots of clothes! I played all day with the new toys. There was also a surprise birthday gift from Papa and Nanny! You'll see pictures of my very own blue chair soon! Thanks so much!!! I also got some Halloween gifts in the mail from Grandpa and Grandma and Papa and Nanny. I'll write more about that soon!!

Since this is a new computer, Mama can't figure out how to get more pictures on this blog, so she'll put them on later.

last day of 9 months old

My new idea - push the boppy since I'm getting too big to sit in it!

It was in the 50s today! We didn't need to turn on the heat yet since it is still 70 in the house, but Mama thought I'd better wear a sweat shirt and pants. I am not used to wearing socks! I slip and slide everywhere I go. This is my last day of 9 months old. Mama can't believe it.

Mama took my picture just seconds after I awoke from my Sunday afternoon nap. She thought my hair was really cute and wanted to make sure she took my picture. It stayed like this for night church! (You might think that I'm mad, but the camera flash is bright and I'm just tired and slowly awakening from my long nap.)

Sam is really fun. He likes cars. I like watching him play. He told Mama to "keep Robert on your lap" so that I wouldn't get too close and eat the cars that are a little too dangerous for me to play with.

I was invited to cousin Dan's surprise 40th birthday party today. It was a lot of fun and the food was fabulous. I got to play with other kids and with some new toys and I got the best seat in the house when Dan blew out the candles on his chocolate cake! I was very well behaved and "kept my hands at home" (i.e., I didn't stick my fingers in the cake!).

I watched Mama make these banana muffins this morning (thanks to Nanny for the recipe!).

I like to stand on my tippy-toes.

I tried on some of my 12 month pajamas today even though I'm only 10 months old (almost).

Applesauce/Oatmeal/Banana Muffins

1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
2/3 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. applesauce
2 ripe mashed bananas
1/2 c. milk
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 T. olive oil
1 egg white

Heat oven to 400. Combine oats, flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda. Add applesauce and bananas, milk sugar, oil and egg white. Mix just until dry ingredients are moist. Fill muffin cups almost full. Then top with 1/4 c. oatmeal, 2 T brown sugar and 1/8 t. cinnamon (mix and sprinkle over batter)

Bake 20-22 minutes or until deep golden brown.

Since I've learned how to wave, I like to do it all the time. By far, I wave to Daddy the most. I like to wave to him when he leaves for work (if I'm up) and when he comes home. I also like to practice waving with Mama in front of the bathroom mirror.

I like to talk ALL the time. Mama isn't sure what I'm saying, but I don't mind.
