Evie Marie Godfrey....
I had such fun spending a full day and morning with my darling nephew Brock as we patiently waited for THE call from Rebekah & Ben that baby Evie was born! What pure joy to take Brock to see them at the hospital a few hours after the baby was born! Brock and I had fun that morning shopping, playing "tent", coloring a picture for the baby, playing cars, reading lots of books, and taking an early morning walk. He says so many words and surprised me by saying "TJ Maxx" and "Publix!" He kept saying, "Micah" and is excited for Nanny and Papa and Aunt Rachel and Micah to come. Rebekah looked absolutely fantastic just an hour after her delivery! The baby was already eating, opening her eyes, and opening her mouth. Brock and I had fun playing peek-a-boo in Rebekah's room with the sliding curtain; the nurses were very helpful and kind. I was sad to leave this morning! Brock was going to go to the zoo!

Go Jason, go Jason, GO!
Mom's Trifle for Labor Day Pot-luck
Fun in Traverse City at BD's Mongolian BBQ and the Traverse City Bay. (Jason bought that boat for me... ha!)

Jason and I have
had a great time in Manton! We're getting ready for all the Labor Day festivities. If you have a chance, check out Mom's blog to see all the wonderful pictures from the surprise shower that the generous ladies at Rollins Church gave me on Thursday night. I know why they call it a SHOWER! Here are some of the definitions of the word "shower":

I know why they call it a SHOWER! Here are some of the definitions of the word "shower": (1) a plumbing fixture that sprays water over you;
(2) lavish: expend profusely;
(3) a sudden downpour;
(4) to provide abundantly with;
(5) a party of friends assembled to present gifts.
I felt so humbled to receive so many wonderful things from friends and family for the coming baby! Now we just have to wait for the baby!!

CRIB!
Last Thursday I bought a used crib and changing table from a lady in Columbia who was selling her baby things on craigslist. Rebekah was able to go with me to pick them up! Jason put the crib together that night. Fun! I have also received some wonderful things for the baby: an adorable baby boy whale and "snow baby" outfit, Pooh animals, and a book from Mom and Dad Lanning (along with other things!), a soft prayer book from Mrs. White in Michigan, baby books and diaries from Sheri, a sleeping positioner from Godfreys in Michigan, a cute Clemson Tiger shirt from Daniel and Candice, and a baby blanket from Mom and Dad Hildebrand! It's so fun to go by the room and think there will be a baby soon!!
