Sweet rolls

• Jason's office always has fun celebrating birthdays... usually each person brings some type of food. I usually send sweet rolls, so yesterday I decided to make my usual batch. Unfortunately, when they came out of the oven, they just didn't look right! I had used all purpose flour instead of bread flour and I had switched the kind of yeast I am used to. I tasted two of them and they tasted great but didn't look as good. At 6:00 PM I decided I'd better go to the store and buy the right ingredients for a second batch. I finally finished them by 10:00 PM. They turned out much better and I frosted them in the morning!

• The 2nd picture is the batch that didn't rise much!

New Haircut...

Guess I'm not too good at taking self-portraits, but I got a free haircut today. Cool.

Jason finally decided to throw away his 1997 Grove City College shirt. I've been after it for a few years now.

Our church has been singing, "I have a hope," by Tommy Walker during a series in the book of Ruth by our pastor, John Munro. Tommy Walker sang at BGEA a few weeks ago and we just looked at his website tonight. It's a fun song... hope you can listen to it!

Zoo Day with Brock

I always have fun when I have a chance to visit Brock and Rebekah in Lexington, SC. Thursday was a beauiful, sunny day... perfect for going to the zoo in Columbia! Brock got pretty excited to see the three gorillas' 11:30 AM feeding!





Brock saw this brass turtle, but it was pretty hot to sit on for a picture!




We even took a trolly to the Botanical Garden side of the zoo. This fountain was just beautiful!

My nephew, Micah, turns 1 on March 6th! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Babysitting....

Babysitting! We've been asked quite a few times to babysit here in the south.

We bought some gingerbread kits and put one together with our friends, Liam & Lilly! After eating some pizzas together, we all went to see the Wizard of Oz at Nation Ford High School. I'm playing the piano for the show and we have our final performance today.

CHEESE!

I love cheese ... but I especially love dubliner cheese.

I like cheese so much that I received it for my Christmas gift from Jason.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JASON!!!

February 20th, Jason turns 29!! We ate the chocolate cake a bit early, though! Nana is with us this week to help celebrate! Happy Birthday to my friend, Sheri, too! She makes better chocolate cakes than I do!

The new Hildebrand Studio!

Last Wednesday we had our closing.... we had a 9:00PM celebration at Jack in the Box and got some great milk shakes. Jason also bought a pizza for $3.

SIM Retirement "Party" for Don & Barb Linsz

I got to go to the Linszes' retirement party at SIM this morning!!! What a joy to hear how they have been used of the Lord all these years. So many mentioned their gifts of encouragement! Mark is here from London and Dan & Corrie and their kids were there, too! I accompanied Corrie as she beautifully played her violin. It's Barb's birthday today!

Last week we got to see Mike Huckabee in Rock Hill, SC! We each shook his hand and told him we were praying for him before he got on the bus to leave. Cool. We were standing right next to ABC's national news reporter when he was live on TV at 6:36 PM.

I love this picture!! My adorable nephew (who we'll see SOON!) is watching his mommy who teaches English to Taiwanese students via TV!

4 addresses in 11 months... home sweet home

Praise the Lord! We found a home and will close on January 30th.

Some of these pictures were taken when we first came to the Carolinas. We stayed the first week with Daniel and Candice and then moved into the townhome! The neighbor boys at Daniel's home came by one day to wash their car. They love Daniel!

Year in Review: Christmas letter #5, Anniversary #4, Address #3,

Family wedding #2, New Job #1

Merry Christmas! I love the verse above. Not only does Jesus knock and stand patiently at the doors of our hearts to seek a personal relationship with us, but He desires for us to open the door of our hearts and listen to His voice on a daily basis so that He can come in and fellowship with us. What a great time of the year to celebrate His birth!

We can hardly believe it is December (where is the snow?) and the start of the Christmas season. We've had three addresses this year... have you lost track of us yet? As most of you already know, God quickly opened a door for us to move to the Carolinas on Oct. 26, 2007. Jason applied, interviewed, and accepted an in-house attorney job at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Charlotte, NC, within a matter of days! Before the job opening, we were in the midst of a missions conference at our church and we had just sung, "I'll go where you want me to go." Well, the Lord told us WHERE the very next day and we WENT two weeks later!

A year for FLYING...

• Dallas, TX, for Tim and Kirstee's elegant January wedding (Kirstee is Jason's cousin);
• Augusta, GA, for Daniel and Candice's March wedding (Daniel is Elizabeth's brother);
• Charlotte, NC, for Elizabeth's September visit to see Daniel and Candice and the Godfreys' celebration of Brock's first birthday;
• Charlotte, NC, for Jason's October interview at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association;
• Taipai, Taiwan, to visit Matt, Rachel, and Micah Sawatzky for the last 9 days of November!

A year for MOVING...

• We started the year in our small one-bedroom apartment at 946 Dewey Street, Lapeer, MI;
• We rented a home 1 mile away at 367 Wildflower Ln.;
• We are currently renting a condo in South Carolina! (No more boxes, please!!!)

Once again, a huge blessing for us as a couple was serving and attending Hunters Creek Community Church. So many people gave us letters of encouragement, goodbye gifts, and well wishes as we headed for the Carolinas. I found it hard to leave the precious 54 piano students with a 2 week notice, but the Lord has already given me several students in SC as well as an accompanying job at a Fort Mill high school. We have found a great church family: Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC, and Jason just loves his job and all the people at BGEA!

We expect some visitors as we have plenty of room and a golf course in our back yard, so y'all come and visit soon, OK?
