HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! ..... & the Godfreys!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DAD!

We love you so much. Our lives are so much richer because of you! We wish we could be there to hear you preach and enjoy Mom's great Sunday dinners! Thank you for always being there for us and for all of your prayers for us. We are so thankful for you!
I was just thinking about when we were in school and how you'd "quiz" us to make sure we were ready for tests. We'd fight about who would "get" you first. You were always so willing to help us with everything from music to sports to school work. I don't think you probably ever had a minute all to yourself, but you never complained! Thank you for being so good to us. Our earthly father is without doubt a wonderful example of our Heavenly Father!

Speaking of fathers, Ben is doing a great job with Brock as Dada & Rebekah is probably the happiest young Mama that I know! They enjoy being parents so much and Brock's smile and great personality is a tribue to their loving care for him!

Ben, Rebekah, and my happy nephew Brock came to visit us in Lapeer on Tuesday! We wished they lived closer! Brock's first stair climb was in our home!

We took a picture of our garden that's growing like a jungle! Hopefully we can eat some yummy veggies this summer from our own garden!

I took a picture of our living room. We finally got all the furniture delivered.

Is this set cute or what? The Godfreys found it for our anniversary! Jason and I are like a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. We just stick together.

COW WOW

Mike & Sheri took us to Cook's Farm Dairy yesterday. The cows were so cool. Jason thought he'd like that job.... eat, get milked, sleep, eat, get milked, sleep, eat...

Do cows eat ice cream?

Our day starts at 7:30 PM....

Is there ever enough time in the day? I don't seem to be able to keep up with my blog!
Jason and I always look forard to 6 PM... since Jason arrives home from work and we can eat dinner together and finally get some errands done! Lately we've been going to some church men's softball games at night. It's fun for me because I get to talk to people!
Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy! Notice how much my plants are growing!
The homemade brownies (one set was Rachel's recipe) turned out great on two occassions.... the ones with the candles were for our anniversary lunch. The huge portabella mushrooms tasted great on the grill!

Jason's office friends came over for lunch today! I made a bundt came with my new bundt cake pan that I received for my birthday last year! It turned out perfectly.

Last but not least, my friend Sheri is truly a generous, kind, funny, and thoughtful person!!! She's not only kind to those she knows, but she thinks of their siblings! She brought us a pack & play, a car seat, a high chair, and a dozen organic baby food jars so that Brock can have a great time in Lapeer! We can't wait for you to come, Reba, Ben, and especially BROCK! Can I feed him?

P.S. My garden and some nice cards!

Wednesday

HAPPY 4th ANNIVERSARY, Jason! I'm so thankful for my husband. He is so patient and kind and thoughtful and generous and he never gets upset.

Mom and Dad came for a visit over Memorial Day! They gave us a WELCOME mat and the curtain rod and a beautiful tea set from Taiwan!

As suggested by Dad and Mom, we got a bathroom mat and a bathroom trash basket at the Dollar Store.

Friday Pictures...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! Just a couple of pictures for all of you!

We saw this vehicle in Lapeer a few days ago. HUGE WHEELS, eh?

Jason posed on the bus during a JV outing, so the kids gave him the picture on Sunday.

We are looking forward to going with WHITES to Chicago this weekend and then being with Mom and Dad over Memorial Day!!! We can't wait for them to see the house! Our little garden has seedlings!!!! How fun!

Flowers....

The Lapeer East choir gave me flowers for accompanying their spring concert! They are beautiful, don't you think? Jason received the pink rose for turning my pages. (Ha!)

We enjoyed having our friend over for lunch on Friday. He's helping at the office this summer. I snapped a few pictures of a frosted angel food cake and the table with Grandma Schmitt's dishes.

Mom…
Thank you so much for being such a loving, thoughtful, kind, generous, encouraging, and hard working Mom!

Thank you so much for continually demonstrating to us what it means to sacrificially give of your time and gifts and love.

Thank you for all the times you put others before yourself. Thank you for all that you do to encourage us each day!

We love you so much! We wish we could be with you tomorrow!

Not our typical Saturday....

We were really looking forward to this weekend, especially since Jason had a really busy week... township board meeting Tuesday night, 6AM Business meeting Wednesday morning, and late nights at work both Wednesday and Thursday!

Friday night finally came so we decided our yard needed to be mowed! Jason did a great job, but had to detour around a mother kill deer bird who wouldn't budge from her eggs that were laid right in the middle of the lawn. She was one mean bird -- if we got to close to her, she would flare her wings and scream! She scared the living day lights out of us a few times! I definately am not wishing her a happy mother's day! As Jason was mowing, I was cleaning up the multch area and as I was poking around and moving dirt, I scraped a hard piece of "rock" that jumped out at me! I screamed so loudly that the whole neighborhood heard and Jason stopped mowing... all for a TOAD!!!

Saturday we had the memorizing competition winners over for a musical cookie & ice-cream. We enjoyed playing with them!

Then we got some of our furniture! Notice the beautiful dishes that are displayed for the first time since we were married! It only took us four years to do it... not bad, eh?

Have a great MOTHER'S DAY! We really love our MOM!!!!

Sunday School

We had fun in Sunday School decorating the Peeps (in memory of the baker who died in Genesis 40.)
